The Perfect Beer Cocktail to Start 2021!
As the holiday season ends we and prepare for the new year, a fun, spicy, beer-filled cocktail is exactly what the doctor ordered! We asked Charleston drink expert, Allie Tkachenko, to whip up an Island inspired drink to ring in 2021, and the results are to die for! Spicy Grapefruit Beer-Garita
Ingredients: 1.5 oz tequila 1 oz Cointreau 0.5 oz lime juice 0.5 oz grapefruit juice 2-4 slices of jalapeno, muddled Pinch of salt 4 oz Island Coastal Lager
For Rim: Equal parts salt & sugar, lime wedge
Directions: Take a lime wedge and run it along the edge of your glass, then dip glass in equal parts salt/sugar mixture. Set aside.
Muddle 2-4 slices of jalapeño in bottom of shaker. Add in tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, grapefruit juice, and pinch of salt to shaker then cover with ice. Shake vigorously then pour into a glass filled with ice. Top with beer and garnish with grapefruit & lime wedge.
